Honey

Unfiltered, raw, rich, and so deeply flavorful, you won’t believe you’ve had honey before.

We offer several different kinds, chosen for their unique flavors that vary with the years. Our black sage honey, for example, is available only three years in ten (get some and keep it: properly stored, true honey never – ever! – goes bad), following the blooming cycle.

We have lavender honey that isn’t just infused with lavender – it’s drawn from bees that harvest from lavender flowers, and you can taste it. We have tupelo honey from peak crops, honeycombs (just break a piece and add it to bread for a treat, or let it dissolve in tea), and more.

Many of our honeys are likely organic (as our lavender honey farmer says, “We’re pretty sure, but we don’t label that since we don’t follow each bee all day to make sure he stays with our crops”), they’re rich with vitamins, and they taste… beautiful.

The best natural honeys taste so good, they’re in a different category from the processed ones sold in grocery chains. Raw honeys are rich in flavor, sweet enough to use in place of sugar, and surprisingly healthful.

The health benefits of honey, like all foods, depends on the quality of what it is made from.

All honeys act as anti-oxidants and anti-microbials to some degree, but much more so by those made by bees harvesting high-quality and organic plants.

Honey helps with glycogen stores, used for all muscular activity, and provides more even energy than sugar or artificial honeys. Raw honey contains several ingredients favored in anti-cancer studies, and even has the same resins that bees use in making their hives, which are inherently protected against mold and bacteria. Kept free of moisture, honey keeps essentially indefinitely.
